Went to Barcelona on the 9th of September.
Second time here so I was playing tour guide to my mother and sister.

View before landing.

Sunset outside the airport.

Paella.
Note to self: Never eat paella from hotels.
Was forced to eat at the hotel as it was already 10pm+ when we arrived at the hotel.
Stayed at Travelodge Poblenou.
Sorta far from La Rambla and other tourist spots but the neighborhood was pretty ok.
First stop the next morning:

The beautiful La Sagrada Familia.

With the ladies.

The ceiling.

Lopsided picture. When you entrust other people with questionable photography skills
Note: Buy the tickets online or risk queuing up for ages.
Second stop at Park Guell.

The steep hike up the hill.

Mum needed a little help.

Found the cutest mop ever.
Note: Barcelona is a very dog friendly city. By dog friendly I mean they are allowed pretty much everywhere from the metro to even shops. If you are a dog lover then great but if you are not then watch out.
Didnt manage to get tickets for that day as the next available slot was for 4pm which was 3 hours away.
Bought tickets for the next day instead.

It was a hot day.
Second attempt the next day but the weather took a turn.
Such a rainy day.
At one point we had to hide in the building as it was pouring so heavily.

The famous lizard.

Where we hid from the rain when it started to pour later in the day.

Always thought they look like ginger bread houses.
Lunch at some random restaurant near the park as it was still raining and the Metro was a long walk away.

Baby Octopus.

Calamari.

Churros.
Found the food to be a dismal.
The tapas were less than appetizing visually and in taste.
But I guess this is the risk you take when you randomly choose a place to dine at.
End of part 1.
Part 2 next when I am bored :)
